Before approving production or shipment, test gift box flocking lining for dimensional accuracy, edge alignment, color consistency, resistance to shedding, and, where applicable, anti-tarnish performance. A structured inspection should evaluate the finished lining inside the actual box rather than relying only on isolated material samples.
Begin with the approved box structure and the specified finished lining measurements. Inspect the lining after cutting, backing, lamination, embossing, or any other finishing operation, since these processes can change its final dimensions. Install the lining in the production box and examine how it follows corners, curves, inserts, and recessed sections.
The lining should remain flat and properly seated without lifting, rippling, excessive tension, exposed backing, or uneven edges. Also verify that it does not obstruct the lid, hinge, cushion, magnetic closure, or product holder. Testing the component in the completed package is important because small dimensional errors can become visible only after assembly.
Self-adhesive flocking lining requires two separate checks: accurate placement and reliable bonding. Mingqian specifies a peel strength of at least 2 newtons per 25 millimeters for self-adhesive products. Available in-house services include self-adhesive backing, paper mounting, lamination, cut-to-size processing, slitting, and precision die-cutting.
Inspect the backing layer independently from the flocked face. A visually consistent surface does not prove that the adhesive, paper, or laminated substrate meets the required performance standard. Confirm adhesion after installation and, when necessary, repeat the evaluation under the expected storage and handling conditions.
For odor testing, close the completed gift box for a defined conditioning period, then assess the internal atmosphere under controlled conditions. This approach better represents the customer experience than evaluating an uncovered fabric swatch. Record odor intensity and any chemical or sour notes that may indicate incomplete drying or residual process materials.
Surface inspection should cover pile density, direction, color, gloss, exposed substrate, and loose fibers. Combine visual review with instrumental color measurement and abrasion or shedding tests to identify variations that may not be obvious during a quick inspection. For jewelry and other sensitive products, include the relevant anti-tarnish or contact-safety requirements before final approval.
